I started in 2010 with one book, and now I have published nearly 100 titles under various imprints. In the early years, I printed the life writings of a monk and provided classic anarchist texts to the scholarly market—a curious mix. Our past imprints included: Sacred Winds Press, Dialectics, J. Missouri, and Sotina Publishing. As the years have gone by, the direction of my interests evolved. I dabbled in many subjects, but I always returned to one. In life as well as work, I have found that following one’s true interest is the best path. As such, I am increasingly dedicated to mountain literature, particularly enduring works that preserve the history of mountaineering and climbing.
This publishing house runs on passion. An amazing community of friends and family shares that spirit and continues to push this endeavor forward. As we approach our first decade in business, I am excited for what the second decade will bring.
In addition to publishing mountaineering books, we also provide publishing, marketing, and design services to individuals, organizations, and business. See our services page for more information.
We are based in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range of California, splitting time between Bishop and Yosemite.

P.S. Here is the original mission statement from a long time ago, when I published books under a different brand. I still believe in this mission.
OUR PASSION IS EXPLORING.
We are deep into the principal of exploration as a personal journey where “firsts” will always be found in the next hollow or beyond the next mountain. At the same time, we are interested in the history of exploration, in the experiences of our forebears, and in the performance of humanity when at the edge of our natural ability. We believe in the importance of conservation and finding the right balance between our pursuits and the health of the natural world.
OUR GOAL IS TO ENCOURAGE EXPLORATION
THROUGH PUBLISHING BOOKS ON ALL FORM
OF OUTDOOR PURSUIT AND CONSERVATION.
Publishing is often a labor of love. In the case of our climbing, caving, exploration, and nature titles, it is an outpouring of the passion that we have for the mountains and the people traveling through them. We are especially passionate about historical works, and our catalog of books reflects this.
